thanks for clicking on him. here's my big FAT ramble that you DO NOT, and, if anything, SHOULD NOT have to read.so. one of my favorite songs right now is Like a Tourist, track 7 on False Priest by of Montreal. my favorite part of the song is the verse. it reminds me a lot of their previous album, Skeletal Lamping. probably on purpose because it's sort of like a parody of itself.the problem is!! the chorus. listen. listen. it's fine. it's just that it is really really unfortunate that it's the chorus of THIS song because it kind of sounds like the type of song to play at the end of an episode of Bob's Burgers. and i like bob's burgers, okay, i do. i just don't think the chorus even comes close to comparing with the quality of the verse.i think what really "does it" for me is that i feel like this song was trying to make up for the pathetic self indulgence that was Godly Intersex, track 5 of False Priest. i love Godly Intersex and it's probably my favorite on the album but it is so SO pathetic & woe is me. i can't cite the lyrics here, but there are lyrics that match up & make it feel like Like A Tourist is actively trying to be its non distinct sequel song.it's like, desperately trying to say, haha wowww i'm being so dramatic right now don't worry everything will be okay, but you can tell they #DoNOT mean that due to how "ironically" self-depreciating the song is in the first place. like i think if it DIDN'T go so well with godly intersex and the verse was on the same level as the chorus i would hate this song so much. but i love it.
